Adoption tax relief

Good afternoon friends.

I am committed to assisting children in the United States find stable, loving, and permanent homes, and I believe the adoption tax credit has encouraged more families to adopt and as a result helped provide a brighter future for thousands of children. It is vitally important that this tax credit does not expire at the end of 2010 as scheduled. That is why I am a strong supporter and cosponsor of H.R. 471. The Adoption Tax Relief Guarantee Act will permanently extend the 2001 adoption incentive and will help more families break the financial barriers and successfully adopt a child.

I am sure you will agree that we owe it to future generations of children in need to make these provisions permanent.

As a parent of 2 adopted children, I have directly benefited from this tax credit. Without this tax credit, my wife and I would not have been able to financially go through the adoption process. We may even adopt a 3 child in the future so this tax credit is essential to our ability to adopt again. Thank you Congressman Burton for your continued support of the Adoption tax credit.

A worthy cause and an excellent goal.

My wife and I adopted two children 30 plus years ago. It was much easier in those days. It is a much more expensive endeavor in this day an age. I am totally in favor of this tax credit.
